Oh! What a winter! In Cincinnati, the average temperatures for January post a high of 40⁰F and a low of 22⁰. By the appearance of AccuWeather’s look back at the month, nearly three-fourths of it was below normal.

Punxsutawney Phil’s predicted six more weeks of winter for us. And, if “winter” means the Ohio River flooding more than eight feet above flood stage, that groundhog got it right!

Does this have you dreaming of sandy beaches, blue sky and warm, sunny, bikini-clad days? If that picture also brings images of unwanted body hair that has appeared since the last days of shorts and sleeveless shirts, that dream of the beach may be tinged with some foreboding of shaving or waxing. AGAIN.

Do you ever wonder how we’ve gotten to the 21st century still struggling with the need to remove hair? Fortunately, a better way does exist now: laser hair removal.

But, it wasn’t always that way. If you think about legends of style and beauty from earlier times, it can make you appreciate the tremendous advantages laser hair removal offers.

Take Cleopatra for example.

It’s a shame that she lived in an era before photography, but she enjoys a strong reputation that’s endured for more than 2,000 years for being a great beauty. It’s a reputation visually reinforced by Hollywood casting Liz Taylor as the Egyptian Queen who would be a paparazzi magnet if she were here today.

Whether they are historically factual or not, Alternative Daily once published a list of the “13 Natural Beauty Secrets of Cleopatra”. It seems to be an ALMOST exhaustive list, detailing beauty routines like celery and hemp eye serum and rose water facial toner.

One thing the list does not mention is hair removal.

Particularly if you are staring down your razor, preparing for yet another shave, this (admittedly modern-era) photo of Cleopatra, sleeveless, with arms raised may just cause you to ask how exactly the women of ancient times managed to remove unwanted hair.

Cleopatra

In a recent article, How Women Ended Up Removing Hair From Their Entire Bodies: A History, Healthyway describes how humans have been removing unwanted hair as far back as at least 6,000 BC. That’s over 8,000 years of hair removal!! EIGHT THOUSAND years!

It’s clear we haven’t evolved away from hair yet, but at least we do have laser hair removal now. Getting ready – and STAYING ready for the beach is so much easier than using clam shells or shark teeth like our ancient ancestors needed, as described in the Healthyway article.

Laser hair removal is easier, and safer too!

So, make it easy on yourself, and get rid of unwanted hair with laser hair removal. More information is available on our site at Laser Hair Removal. And, you can just give us a call. Our professional team is happy to answer your questions.
